I have been a patient of Dr. Sugiyama for over 12 years now. During that time, I have had several caps, a root canal, a bridge, and numerous teeth cleanings. The one word that immediately comes to mind when referring to the services I have received from Dr. Sugiyama and staff is “Outstanding.” First of all, the Doctor believes in “personal service.” He only sees one patient a time, unlike other dentist offices where the dentist is bouncing between 2 or 3 rooms. Doctor Sugiyama schedules his procedures accurately so that there is very little wait time, if any. Over the years, I have always found Dr. Sugiyama to be a perfectionist when it comes to getting my procedures done right, the first time, while all the time showing concern for my physical and emotional well being. The office staff has always made every effort to squeeze me in when I had an emergency. The waiting room is very relaxed and comfortable and there is an easily accessible restroom if needed.
In short, Doctor Sugiyama runs a first class, top notch dental health office. If you are looking around for a new dentist, I highly recommend that you make an initial appointment and meet Dr. Sugiyama and staff.

My wife and I chose Dr. Sugiyama as our dentist after moving to Hawaii in 2001. An acquaintance recommended Dr. Sugiyama because they felt he stays current on technologies and practices in his field. We have found this to be true in the time we have been patients. In addition to professional and effective treatment during regular office visits, Dr. Sugiyama has helped during dental emergencies. His calm and confident manner helps ease any apprehension you may feel. The entire staff of the office is always helpful and pleasant. Although different people have differing views of “visits to the dentist” we have found visits to Dr. Sugiyama’s office to be a good experience.

This letter is to convey my heartfelt endorsement of Dr. Charles Sugiyama, DDS. He has been my dentist for more years than either of us can remember, or will admit. I sincerely hope to never to see another dentist than he.
Like many people, I am not the best dental patient, but I have complete confidence in Dr. Sugiyama. He is a perfectionist. His judgment is impeccable. He always knows which tooth to work on next, and does his best to save even broken teeth, which I've had a lot of. He is an artist when it comes to sculpting dental repairs. (his Engineer background comes in handy) He has also repaired all my ground down teeth, and has made them appear whole. I tease him by saying that without him, I'd be a toothless old lady. It's true.
I highly recommend Dr. Sugiyama to anybody who is looking for a dentist who can be trusted to do the job right the first time, and without any unnecessary anxiety producing pain.
I have actually changed jobs just so I can have dental coverage that Dr. Sugiyama accepts. I don't want to see anybody else, and you won't either if you go see him. He's that good.

Every experience I've had with Dr. Sugiyama and his team for the past 10 years has been the best! He and his team are welcoming and helpful, and I always feel like my questions are genuinely being listened to and answered. Also, as a full-time student, I found that the office would make sure to coordinate appointments for me that worked for my schedule. Dr. Sugiyama was great when I needed emergency dental work--when I lost my front tooth in a sports accident, he and his team were prepared to immediately restore my smile. Everyone thinks Dr. Sugiyama's work made my smile look even better than before!
